Description
Hippocampi from Greek mythology were creatures with the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a fish. Created by the sea god Poseidon, they pulled his chariot over both the waves of the sea and the solid ground of land. Listen for the ocean in the A sections’ rocking accompaniment and for the pounding of hooves on dry ground in the B section as the team of hippocampi pull Poseidon through the ocean, onto land, then back to his underwater realm. Programs beautifully on recitals alongside The Pink Dolphin, The Banshee and The Kappa!
