Beginner Violin Class for Adults!

Interested in trying the violin? Any of these sound like you?

You’ve always loved the idea of playing the violin, but were told it’s too hard to learn as an adult (give me a moment while I cry about this).
You play another instrument; now you’re interested in violin as a second instrument.
You have children in music lessons, and after sitting in on them forever, you’re totally ready to give it a go yourself 😉
You’re looking for an activity to help you grow, learn, create something beautiful, and connect with other people.

This is the program for you!

The beginning violin class for adults runs in 8 week sessions. Players may enroll for a single session or continue re-enrolling each quarter, according to their goals and schedules. One of the awesome things about being an adult player is the freedom to make what you want of your own musical experience!

The 8 group classes are…

Held weekly
1 hour long
In person at my home studio (south Gilbert, near Riggs and Val Vista)
Structured for 4-7 players

In these classes, we build a solid foundation for technique and play fun tunes together, all in a supportive, relaxed space. One of the things I’ve loved about all my classes is how incredibly encouraging the players are of each other!

The program runs in 8 week sessions, coinciding closely with Arizona’s school district calendar. Enrollment is offered before each session, with priority given to current students re-enrolling. Upcoming sessions include:

2024/2025 Quarter 2: October 15-December 19 (interest form deadline October 7)
2024/2025 Quarter 3: January 14-March 6 (interest form due January 6)
2024/2025 Quarter 4: March 25-May 15 (interest form due March 17)

Classes and lessons are generally held Tuesdays-Thursdays during school hours. Class times are scheduled based on responses in the interest forms. Participants receive an email shortly after the interest form deadline letting them know when classes are scheduled for that quarter. At that point, you may reserve your spot by submitting tuition.

Tuition is $175 for the entire session.

I have a very limited number of student violin outfits available to studio members to rent for $25/8 week session. The interest form allows you to indicate if you’d like to be considered for one of these. Otherwise, if renting in the east valley area of Phoenix, I always recommend Andrew’s Fine Violins near Baseline and the 202.
